Pirkanmaa Social Democrats expand 2027 parliamentary slate with three nominees

Pirkanmaa Social Democrats have added three names to their 2027 parliamentary list. At a district meeting in Tampere, the party nominated Mira Hirvonen, Jani Moisio and Oliver Priimägi, Tamperelainen reported.

The slate now stands at 17, edging closer to the planned 20 as interest has outstripped the remaining slots.

Hirvonen works as an OMA coach and holds a master's degree in social sciences. Moisio is an HVAC installer and serves as chief shop steward. Priimägi studies political science and has been vice chair and later chair of Tampere's youth council. They come from a range of backgrounds.

Roope Lehto, chair of the Pirkanmaa Social Democrats' district board, said the new names "complement our candidate list well and show the range of backgrounds and skills in the party" in a press release. He linked the strong interest to the party's success in recent regional and municipal elections, rising membership and active local organisation.

The nominations follow similar moves by other parties in Pirkanmaa this spring, such as the Left Alliance's recent additions and Kokoomus' nominations.
