Ramppikuume brings eight youth theatre performances to Mikkeli in April
Eight youth theatre groups from Turku, Tampere, Kittilä, Kuopio, Oulu and Rovaniemi have been selected for Ramppikuume 2026 and will travel to Mikkeli’s Paukkulan campus for a showcase on 24–26 April.
Nuorisoseurat announced that eight youth theatre groups from Turku, Tampere, Kittilä, Kuopio, Oulu and Rovaniemi have been selected for Ramppikuume 2026 and will travel to Mikkeli's Paukkulan campus for the showcase on 24–26 April. The performances bring together a wide range of youth theatre from across Finland, including several works created by young people themselves.
The lineup includes Laiva and Lena (Turku); Mistä kuulet totuutesi? (Tampere); Toisen tähti oikealla, ennen aamua (Kittilän Nuorisoteatteri); Pikku prinssi (Tähti teatteri, Tampere); Köyhää kansaa (TeatteriTorstai, Kuopio); Varokaa, hengenvaara! (Kaaoskansa, Oulu); Lemminkäinen (Tampereen poikateatteri Sällit); MATKA METUVERSUMIIN (Leimut / Teatteri Säije, Rovaniemi).
Nuorisoseurat notes that Ramppikuume offers young performers a chance to perform at a national event, see peers’ works, and take part in training workshops, with feedback from a professional jury consisting of Mikko Penttilä, Sanna Saarela and Esko Korpelainen. The event also functions as an important meeting place for young theatre enthusiasts and cultural youth workers across Finland.
