Rudus publishes 2025 sustainability report

Rudus announced that its Sustainability Report 2025, published in spring 2026, covers the company’s 2025 activities and highlights low-carbon innovation and circular-economy efforts despite the construction industry slowdown.

Rudus says it continues voluntary reporting in line with the EU’s CSRD requirements to better understand its impacts on stakeholders and to develop its operations. The company adds that growing regulatory complexity is increasing demand for reliable information to support customers’ own sustainability reporting, and that it is updating its double materiality analysis to improve how its reporting meets customer information needs.

In its greenhouse-gas footprint calculations under the GHG Protocol, Rudus reports that its total emissions have fallen by 32% compared with the baseline year 2021. The company notes that some of the reduction is linked to lower production volumes and prevailing market conditions, but says it expects to achieve its interim target of a 30% reduction by 2030 through planned roadmaps and measures even if production growth returns.

The report also lists several 2025 milestones, including the introduction of Nopea Vähähiilinen Holvibetoni ready-mix concrete, designed to cut emissions by around 30% versus conventional concrete in the same strength class, with placements carried out in Kuopio and Helsinki. Rudus says research it conducted over two years showed that recycled stone aggregates can function in concrete and help bind carbon, and it reports support for six WWF nature projects via donations of significant quantities of mineral materials for wetland and river restoration. The company also points to work safety progress, noting that its Tampere landscaping products plant won Betoniteollisuus’ occupational safety competition.

Rudus frames its direction around targets including net-zero emissions by 2050, a 30% CO₂ reduction by 2030 (from 2021), biodiversity actions through its LUMO programme, and a goal of zero accidents and being Finland’s safest company in its sector.
