Free evening picnics with live music featuring accordionist Saana Kastelli will be held in the Amuri Museum Quarter in August; picnic tables must be reserved in advance by email.

According to the City of Tampere, evening picnics and live music will bring August twilight to the Amuri Museum Quarter following its reopening earlier this summer with a public sauna, theatre and concerts.

The events are free; bring your own food and enjoy accordionist Saana Kastelli in the museum's atmospheric courtyard. Picnic tables will be set up and must be reserved in advance by emailing [email protected], stating the number in your party (maximum six) and which seating you want. There are two seatings, at 18:00 and 20:00, each lasting 1.5 hours. Places are limited and will be allocated in order of registration. The programme is for all ages, there will be no food sales or alcohol service, and attendees should notify the organisers promptly if they need to cancel.

The day also features Pump Organ Day, 11:00 to 14:00, when members of the Finnish Pump Organ Society will perform and offer visitors a chance to try the instrument. This is included in museum admission. The museum quarter runs a variety of guided tours: short 15-minute Introductions to Amuri, longer Block Tours and themed walks such as the Curtains Wave tour on local characters and the Amuri Blooms tour on perennials and houseplants. The site is open Tuesday to Sunday, 11:00 to 18:00, through 6 September. See the Amuri Museum Quarter website for full schedules.
