Satu Silvo swaps Laukontori apartment for Teisko cottage

Actress Satu Silvo will spend the summer in Tampere, moving from her Laukontori apartment to a rented lakeside cottage in Teisko after Midsummer while appearing in the Tampere Comedy Theatre's summer farce Täydelliset häät, the local paper Tamperelainen says.

Silvo previously performed in the theatre's Yllätysvieras from autumn through spring and has already fallen for the city. She has been exploring Laukontori's vintage shops and the market hall, calling the area "a miniature world" of shops, restaurants, saunas and waterfront. She and her husband, actor and writer Reidar Palmgren, will spend Midsummer in Savonlinna. Palmgren turns 60 at the end of June, but the couple have not planned a celebration.

She plans to stay busy rather than lounge. "I'm a tinkerer, not a lounger," Silvo says. "I have to get soil in my hands." Her plans include saunas, swims and small-scale gardening; she might even ask to help out on a local allotment and perhaps take an evening dip at one of Tampere's swimming spots.
