A stadium-scale Christmas singalong and market called Joululaulut stadionilla (Carols at the Stadium) will be held at Tammelan stadion in Tampere on Saturday 12 December 2026.

'Joululaulut stadionilla' (Carols at the Stadium), a stadium-scale Christmas singalong and market, will take place at Tammelan stadion in Tampere on Saturday 12 December 2026. The event follows a season of community sing-alongs across Tampere this autumn and promises communal carols, mulled wine and food stalls for all ages.

An opening choir on the stadium stage will be the more-than-30-member Harjun Kamarikuoro, accompanied by pianist Mikko Kangasjärvi. Mikko 'Tökä' Töyssy will serve as master of ceremonies. The repertoire includes Finnish favourites such as Joulumaa, Tulkoon joulu and Sydämeeni joulun teen, along with international numbers like Last Christmas and some unexpected holiday-themed picks.

Attendees will follow lyrics on large screens. Mulled wine, soft drinks, food and Christmas products will be sold by designated vendors; drink sales will take place on the playing field and other stalls will be set up along the stadium concourse. The venue’s fixed restrooms and an indoor restaurant with views of the pitch and stage will be open to guests.

Tickets are on sale via Lippu.fi and come in an area format that allows access to both the pitch and the stands, where seating is first-come, first-served. Early Bird tickets are €14.90 until 31 October, rising to €19.90 thereafter. Children 12 and under are €10 and a family ticket for two adults and two children is €39.90. VIP tickets (€75) include access to the Mercedes Club on the third floor, a Christmas buffet and VIP seating; purchasers may choose a licensed, 18+ seating area or an age-unrestricted stands section. The event opens at 17:00, the programme starts at 18:00 and is scheduled to finish by 22:00. The performance will last about two hours, including an interval.

Promoter Taija Holm says the concept draws on a Central European tradition of large communal carol events, with the aim of combining a Christmas market, communal singing and a warm seasonal atmosphere in a format not previously staged in Finland. Risto Niklas-Salminen, CEO of Ilves Stadion Oy, noted that Tammelan stadion is known for sports and large events and that organisers wanted ticket prices to allow as many people as possible to take part. The stadium will also host a daytime, free-entry Christmas programme on 12 December; more details will be released later.
