Keskustori Christmas Market to Offer Daily Public Sauna Sessions
The Keskustori Christmas market opens on 21 November 2026 and will include a public sauna run by AITO Sauna, with daily sessions through 22 December; tickets go on sale 3 November.
According to ePressi, the Keskustori Christmas market opens on 21 November 2026 and, for the first time, will include a public sauna run by AITO Sauna. Sessions run daily through 22 December, from 11:00 to 20:00, and tickets go on sale on 3 November at 10:00.
Each session lasts 1.5 hours, costs €10 per person and accommodates up to eight people. Sessions are mixed by default, with group bookings available. Heated changing rooms with separate facilities for women and men, along with showers and lockers, will be provided. Visitors must bring a towel and swimwear. The sauna will be staged at the heart of the market among the usual food and shop stalls.
AITO Sauna supplied the same unit used in the Sauna Lounge during the Vienna Eurovision events, and project partners include Jasper Pääkkönen and Avanto Arkkitehdit. Elina Lilleberg of AITO said the aim is to combine traditional Finnish sauna culture with contemporary design, creating an authentic experience for both locals and tourists.
Saara Saarteinen, Tampere's city event manager, welcomed the addition as a new seasonal attraction for friends and families. Tuomas Paloniemi, PR adviser at Visit Tampere, pointed to the city's reputation as a global sauna hub and the market's yearly draw of hundreds of thousands of visitors as reasons the sauna fits the programme. The move follows renewed local interest in public saunas, such as the Amuri museum's recently reopened public sauna which sold out quickly this summer.
