Sunshine Hervantajärvi daycare will open next to Joutsenpuisto in Tampere in August 2026, offering space for eight child groups, Tamperelainen reports.
The timber-built facility will provide Finnish- and English-language early childhood education for children from nine months to six years. Sunshine’s business director Jenni Lenihan says Tampere faces strong demand for quality English-language care. Bilingualism will be introduced naturally through play and daily routines; no prior English is required. The daycare is currently recruiting early childhood teachers, child carers and a daycare assistant.
Located in the growing Hervantajärvi neighbourhood south of Hervanta, the daycare is intended to add childcare places and create local jobs. Each group will have its own room in the timber building. There will also be small-group spaces and a gym; outside, a well-equipped playground and nearby nature will support daily outdoor activities and short excursions.
