Tampere approves €2.97 million in grants for community wellbeing groups

According to the City of Tampere, the city will distribute €2,972,010 in grants to community groups that promote residents' wellbeing, including venue subsidies.
The discretionary awards can fund preventive substance‑abuse work, mental wellbeing activities, peer support, human rights efforts and projects that counter social exclusion.
The culture and leisure board allocated €38,500 to seven groups for wellbeing and prevention initiatives. Family support grants totalled €50,000 across 11 organisations. Thirty groups received €124,600 for services aimed at people over 65, and neighbourhood activity grants amounted to €16,300 for 11 groups.
Eligible applicants include registered associations operating in Tampere that carry out these activities. A full list of grant recipients and amounts is available in the meeting minutes and attachments on the city's website.
