Applications open for Tampere's 2027 community grants on 14 September
Applications for Tampere's 2027 general grants open on 14 September and close at 15:45 on 14 October 2026.
According to the City of Tampere, applications for Tampere's 2027 general grants open on 14 September and close at 15:45 on 14 October 2026. The application period follows the city's March decision to approve €2.97 million in grants for community groups. Applications and all attachments must arrive by the deadline; late submissions will not be processed.
Applications are submitted via an online form, and guidance is available on the city’s grant webpages. The period was moved earlier at the request of community groups so recipients receive funding at the start of the operating year, according to Susanna Lundström, the city's grants planner. An open information session will be held at Tampere City Hall, Aleksis Kivi Street 14–16 C, on Wednesday 16 September from 17:30 to 19:00. No registration is required, and coffee will be served to the first 80 attendees.
Eligible applicants include registered associations, non-profit cooperatives and non-profit companies that have been active for at least a year. Grants fund regular, open-to-all activities taking place in Tampere; they cannot be used to fund for-profit activities or religious practice.
The city has tightened rules on allowable costs. Grant funds may not be used for fundraising, gifts for members or alcohol purchases, and trips outside Tampere are supported only if justified.
New grants will not be awarded if the previous grant’s usage report was not submitted on time. Decisions will be made by the Culture and Leisure Board, while animal protection grants are decided by the Community Board’s regional environmental health section. The city aims to issue decisions around the turn of the year 2026 to 2027.
