Tampere Earmarks €3M to Subsidise Hiring of 18–29-Year-Olds
The City of Tampere has allocated nearly €3 million to subsidise hiring of unemployed 18–29-year-olds; employers can receive 50% of wage costs (up to €1,500/month) for at least six-month contracts.
The City of Tampere says employers in the Tampere region can apply for a youth recruitment subsidy to hire unemployed 18–29-year-olds into employment contracts lasting at least six months. Nearly €3 million has been allocated to the Tampere Region Employment area; the city will distribute the funding to municipalities across the region.
Participating employers can receive 50 percent of wage costs. The subsidy is capped at €1,500 per month per young person.
Both employer and recruit must meet eligibility requirements: employers must be engaged in business activities anywhere in Finland, and the young person must be registered as a job seeker in the Tampere region's employment area.
