Led by Deputy Mayor Anne-Mari Jussila, the steering group includes Lauri Savisaari, Mikko Nurminen, Pekka Salmi, Teppo Rantanen, Aleksi Murtojärvi, Anna-Kaisa Heinämäki, Tero Tenhunen, Heini Ruski, Iina Ojala, Heidi Rytky and Janne Kytö as members, and is tasked with shaping the Muumi development concept’s vision, time frame, milestones and target audiences. Visit Tampere is set to appoint a project manager for the Muumi project; the selection has been made, but the name has not been announced. Tampere already hosts the world’s only Moomin Museum, and Tampere and Moomin Characters Oy Ltd have a three-year partnership to advance the Muumi concept for tourism, liveliness and international reach. The group may invite leaders from its corporate partners as needed, including Visit Tampere’s CEO Jari Ahjoharju, Särkänniemi’s CEO Mikko Hautasaari, Business Tampere’s program director Fanny Heinonen, Tampere-talo’s CEO Paulina Ahokas and Hopealinjat’s CEO Mari Vuorinen."
