According to the City of Tampere, Filharmonia Day returns to Tampere Hall on 25 April, featuring a free 45-minute family concert at 13:00, backstage tours, instrument demonstrations and hands-on activities.
This year's programme draws inspiration from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra and expands the event's offerings, organisers say.
Visitors can meet musicians, try instruments up close and test an audition simulator that recreates the experience of a real job audition.
The concert is conducted by Chief Conductor Matthew Halls and is aimed at families. Other attractions include a prize wheel, special ticket offers and a programme of children's events.
A paid Faun Brunch, with chamber ensemble performances, begins at 10:00 to mark the 30th anniversary of the Afternoon of Fauns series.
The open day runs until 15:00 and is organised in cooperation with Pro Orchestra Association, Tampere Hall, Tampere Hall Restaurants and Kulttuuriosuuskunta Uulu.
