Tampere will redraw its voting district boundaries in early 2027, splitting fast-growing areas like Vuores and reshaping Lielahti while keeping most polling places the same.

Tampere will redraw its voting district boundaries in early 2027, affecting fast-growing neighbourhoods such as Vuores and Lielahti. Most polling places will remain the same, limiting immediate disruption for voters.

The city board approved splitting Vuores voting district 62 into Vuores A and Vuores B and dividing Lielahti district 39 into Niemenranta and Niemi. Elsewhere the plan merges and adjusts districts: Lamminpää district 37 is removed and its areas attached to Ikuri A, Tohloppi and Kaarila, which will move some Lamminpää voters to vote at Ikuri daycare and school, the Tesoma school building, or the Kaarila school building.

Planned changes also combine Leinola and Holvasti into a single Leinola district while keeping Leinola school as a polling site. Parts of Kaleva 15 will shift into Saukonpuisto 14, meaning some voters move from Sammon keskuslukio to the Teiskontie school building. Two plots from Lielahti will be transferred to Santalahti, changing their polling place to Tampere International School in Amuri.

The total number of voting districts remains 68, though names and numbers will be updated. The changes take effect in early 2027 and will first apply in the parliamentary elections that spring, pending final approval by the city council. Tamperelainen reported the plan.
