Tampereen Komediateatteri will stage Satu Rämö’s Hildur at its main stage on Friday 18 September, Aamulehti reports. Director Panu Raipia says the production stays faithful to Rämö’s novel. It is not a comedic take on the genre. Raipia calls Hildur possibly the most thrilling and raw play in the company’s 35-year history, and notes the staging includes corpses and blood, elements audiences do not usually see at the comedy theatre.
The choice reflects a wider repertoire, with the season also featuring the musical comedy Tootsie and a returning British comedy. Past seasons have included family plays, drama and a long-running horror piece.
