Tays Ranked 109th in Newsweek Global Hospital List
Tays ranks 109th among 2,500 hospitals worldwide in Newsweek's global list, with HUS at 40th and TYKS at 107th among Finnish hospitals.
“Newsweek magazine has once again ranked hospitals worldwide.” Tamperelainen reports. Tampere University Hospital, known as Tays, sits at 109th on the global list of 2,500 hospitals.
Tamperelainen notes that the ranking evaluates both professional and patient assessments as well as care quality and patient-satisfaction metrics across the sector. The paper adds that among Finnish hospitals Helsinki University Hospital (HUS) is 40th and Turku University Hospital (TYKS) is 107th. Tays dropped two places from last year to 109th. HUS improved three places to 43rd, and TYKS slid by 13 places to 120th. Kuopio University Hospital fell out of the top 250 from 191st last year. Mayo Clinic Rochester is named the best hospital overall. In Europe, the top institutions are Karolinska University Hospital in Stockholm (4th), Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin (8th), and Universitätsspital Zürich (9th).
