Tampere University has retained its place in the Times Higher Education world university ranking, landing in the 326–350 band and posting a record industry collaboration score. The university's industry collaboration result rose 47 points from 2024 to reach 86.7, the highest in its comparison history. Times Higher Education assesses institutions across five pillars: teaching, research environment, research quality, industry collaboration and international outlook. All five pillars improved by roughly two points this year.
About one-third of the ranking's weight comes from academic reputation, measured by a survey of 69,000 respondents. Industry collaboration accounts for around 4 percent of the total and is calculated from metrics such as patents and external funding. Tampere University has previously appeared in bands between 251–300 and 350. With this year's result it ranks fifth among nine Finnish universities. Oxford retains the global lead, and the top ten continues to be dominated by US and UK institutions.
