Tensions Rise at Teivo Ahead of Kuninkuusravit

Teivo needs space for Kuninkuusravit and will hand over part of its stable area to Ylöjärvi, with rehabilitation required before year-end. The timetable tightening comes as the racetrack prepares for the big event and begins reorganizing facilities for the autumn restoration work.

Teivo's chief executive Kaisa-Leena Ahlroth counters that talk of a bad atmosphere is unpleasant and that she does not share that view, noting that the parties hold regular meetings. The paper adds that the background to the tensions includes broader concerns about communication and fair treatment, which trainers like Orreveteläinen say have deteriorated in recent years. Tampereen Ravirata Oy's board chairman Jukka Heiskala says competition at Teivo will continue after Kuninkuusravit, and that Teivo will operate on a smaller plot with some stables demolished ahead of the annual event in late July / early August.
