Teivo Kuninkuusravit tickets double as Nysse travel passes for race weekend
Teivo Kuninkuusravit tickets will serve as valid Nysse travel passes for the race weekend from 31 July 10:00 until 2 August 21:00, covering buses, trams and certain VR train routes.
Event tickets for the Teivo Kuninkuusravit will double as valid Nysse travel passes to the racetrack for the weekend, valid from Friday 31 July at 10:00 until Sunday 2 August at 21:00. The arrangement echoes an earlier scheme this summer when Manse PP match tickets doubled as Nysse travel passes.
Project manager Niina Okkonen said the decision was driven by a wish to give visitors a range of ways to reach the event. "From the start it was clear we wanted to offer visitors as many options as possible to get to the event. We are pleased that cooperation with Nysse makes Teivo racetrack easily accessible by public transport and provides flexible travel options also in the evening."
Under the arrangement the race pass and three-day ticket are valid across the Nysse network for the whole weekend. Day tickets are valid on their stamped day: Friday 10:00–00:45, Saturday 08:00–23:59 and Sunday 08:00–21:00. Every boarding requires validation by showing the ticket or race-pass QR code to the vehicle's validator.
The pass covers buses and trams within the Nysse area, including Tampere, Kangasala, Lempäälä, Nokia, Orivesi, Pirkkala, Vesilahti and Ylöjärvi. It also covers Valkeakoski buses using the Nysse system and VR local and long-distance trains on the Nokia, Lempäälä, Orivesi and Tesoma – Tampere routes.
Nysse will run extra buses to Teivo for the weekend, with special event lines 82X and 105–107 serving visitors. "It's great to have the Royal Races participating in event-ticket cooperation. This is a large event, and we want to make travelling to the racetrack as easy and effortless as possible," said Juha-Pekka Häyrynen, Nysse planning manager.
Private cars will not be permitted at the racetrack during the event. Organisers warned heavy demand may cause congestion, particularly at the start and finish of performances. Passengers travelling between Tampere and Ylöjärvi should prepare for delays and for the possibility that not all passengers will fit on the first bus or tram; the nearest stop to the racetrack is Hätiläntie, about a one-kilometre walk to the event area.
