The cult Christmas show The Joulukalenteri returns to Tampere for a live 30th-anniversary performance, with the original Trio Saletti playing at Tampere-talo's Pieni sali (Small Hall) on Sunday 20 December.

They sold out Espoo's Sellosali in under 48 hours, and a second Espoo date has been added for Tuesday 22 December, Tamperelainen reports.

The hosted shows mix Trio Saletti's memories and behind-the-scenes stories with screenings of the programme's most legendary moments and the performers' favourite scenes. A Meet & Greet is included with the ticket.

The Joulukalenteri first aired in Finland in 1997; Jukka Virtanen adapted and directed it from earlier Danish and Norwegian versions. The parody calendar is remembered for its absurd humour, the elves' Finglish, recurring chants and songs, most famously the tune translated as "It's Hard to Be an Elf."

The three original stars are veteran musicians as well. Korjus and Smedberg are known from Seitsemän Seinähullua Veljestä, and Lehtomäki from the Finlanders and other groups.

The Tampere show starts at 16:30 in Pieni sali (Small Hall) and is suitable for ages seven and up.
