Van Driver Hospitalised After Rear-End Crash on Pyhäjärventie
One person was hospitalised after a van rear-ended a truck on Pyhäjärventie in Tampere, closing a lane while rescue crews directed traffic.
A crash occurred just before the Teiskontie ramp on Pyhäjärventie, in the direction of Jyväskylä, on Wednesday, Tamperelainen reports.
Only the drivers were in the two vehicles. The van driver was taken to hospital for treatment; the truck driver was uninjured. The cause of the collision is not yet known. One lane of Pyhäjärventie was closed while rescue crews directed traffic through a single lane. The Pirkanmaa Rescue Department said normal traffic flow would likely resume by 14:00.
The crash is the latest to disrupt traffic on Pyhäjärventie. There was an earlier rear-end collision near the Tampere Fair Centre in August that also briefly blocked a lane.
