Virpi Hukka has signed a 1+1 contract to play next season for Porin Pesäkarhut after six seasons with Manse PP.

Virpi Hukka will play next season for Porin Pesäkarhut on a 1+1 contract, YLE reports.

The 35-year-old is a five-time Finnish champion and a three-time women's pesäpallo (Finnish baseball) Player of the Year. After six seasons with Tampere club Manse PP, Hukka chose Pori over several offers. She said she had long dreamed of playing for Pesäkarhut and felt the timing was right.

She described herself as a veteran who brings experience, on-field leadership and a calming presence to the squad.

Pesäkarhut manager Atte Hakala welcomed the signing. He said the squad is now complete and that increased internal competition will be a positive for the club's ambitions.
