16 International Singles to Taste Their Way Through Tampere on 'Have Some Finnish' Food‑Tour

Tamperelainen reports that sixteen singles from around the world will arrive in Tampere in February to take part in the 'Have Some Finnish' food‑tour dating events. The campaign, launched in September with tasting trips to Turku and Rovaniemi, frames the Helsinki and Tampere visits as group dining dates inspired by viral videos of Finnish 'single' shopping baskets.

Participants were chosen from application videos by a panel that judged creativity, authenticity and personality. A handful of local Tampere residents will join the visitors; there was no open public call to apply.

Organisers expect the visit to highlight the city's restaurants and producers. The itinerary includes Tampere Market Hall, the Pyynikki doughnut café and local saunas. It also features a trip to Serlachius and the Moomin Museum, and will culminate in a specially designed dinner at Ravintola Gösta.

Head chef Henry Tikkanen said, "The way to the guests' hearts is through honest good food," promising dishes rooted in Finnish Lakeland flavours and seasonal ingredients.
