50-year-old Charged with Murder After Hervanta Apartment Stabbing

A 50-year-old man has been charged with murder over a fatal stabbing at a private apartment on Lindforsinkatu in Hervanta in February, Aamulehti reports.

Police say the suspect is accused of killing another adult male with a bladed weapon after an argument at the apartment; two other people were present. The incident came to light on the morning of Saturday 14 February, and the suspect was detained at the scene. He later appeared with visible injuries, including a stitched head wound, and was remanded on probable cause. Officers said intoxicants contributed to the escalation.

The building was undergoing a large-scale plumbing renovation at the time, which made the scene unusual. Part of the block remained occupied, and some renovation workers who had planned to work over the weekend were blocked by a major police operation. The suspect is registered at the sealed apartment. The case is due to be heard at Pirkanmaa district court on 15 May.
