Autoliitto Tampereen Seudun Osasto will host the national Auton Päivä in Kangasala on Saturday 5 September, featuring historic vehicles, heavy equipment and safety demonstrations from 10:00–14:00.

According to ePressi, Autoliitto Tampereen Seudun Osasto will host the national Auton Päivä in Kangasala on Saturday 5 September from 10:00 to 14:00. The main site is Biltema Kangasala in Lentola, with open-house activities across the town.

The day brings together car-industry businesses, historic vehicles and traffic-safety partners. Exhibitors at Biltema’s yard include Autoliitto, Biltema, Alumatic, Hinausautokeskus, Lapin Kumi Kangasala / Rengas Park, RKH Raskaan Kaluston Huolto, the insurer Turva, Mobilia museum, Liikenneturva and Vehoniemi Automotive Museum.

Visitors can expect rare and heavy equipment. Alumatic will present a Defence Forces refuelling-tank vehicle built in Kangasala. Hinausautokeskus will bring the heavy tow truck that won second place at PowerTruck 2026. RKH Raskaan Kaluston Huolto will show other large-scale service vehicles, and staff will be on hand to talk shop. Big machines, big stories.

The programme pairs history with safety demonstrations. Mobilia brings a 1957 Scania-Vabis museum bus that once served Tampereen Liikennelaitos, and Vehoniemi will show an East German Trabant that formerly ran as a Kuusankoski police car. Liikenneturva's stand includes a rule-of-way quiz and a crash-force scale to demonstrate seat-belt effects. Biltema runs a children's treasure hunt, and raffles and special offers will be available across sites. Autoliitto will hand out a coupon for a free hot dog to the first 300 visitors at the Biltema café.

The event follows recent historic-car activity in the region, including the FIVA Two Lakes Tour that passed through the Tampere region in late July.

Auton Päivä extends beyond Biltema, with several Kangasala businesses opening their doors from 10:00 to 14:00. Deluxe Detail, North Kustom and Kultapellon Korjaamo are among the workshops showing restorations, ceramic coatings, heavy-machine servicing and customised builds.

"Auton Päivää has been held in Finland since 1997, and the events highlight traffic safety, driving and mobility in various ways. Our aim is to underline the importance of this form of mobility for Finns," said Pentti Kaihoniemi, chair of Autoliitto's Tampere region branch. Panu Anttila of Business Kangasala added that the day is a chance to showcase Kangasala’s wide automotive expertise to a broader audience.
