Bus 7 terminus to move 1 km north to new roundabout near Tesoma Swimming Hall
Bus line 7’s terminus in Tesoma will move about one kilometre north to a new roundabout near the Tesoma Swimming Hall after drivers warned the current terminus is too cramped.
Tamperelainen reports the move follows repeated warnings from drivers and the operator that the current Tesoma terminus is too cramped for the number of buses using it. There have been several near-miss incidents when buses leave the stop. The existing stops on Tesomankatu also serve superbuss line 8 and multiple other routes, leaving little space for terminal operations. Moving the terminus is estimated to cost about €70,000 a year, though Nyssen expects higher ticket revenues on the new routing to partly offset that. The reroute will take buses past Tesoma School, the local sports hall, the swimming hall and the ice rink. The change was assessed by the Tampere region public transport committee and has been included in Nyssen's 2027 budget. It is also part of Nyssen's wider 2028 transit overhaul to reconfigure line 7 Nyssen's 2028 transit overhaul plans.
