A car ploughed into the wall of a detached house on Kauppakuja in Ylöjärvi at about 4 a.m., seriously injuring one person who was taken to hospital, Tamperelainen reported.
Aku Pietilä, a duty officer with the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department, said the alarm came in at 4:38 a.m. He described the scene as a collision against the wall of a detached house in a residential area and said it did not cause traffic disruption.
The vehicle first struck a tree before hitting the house, Aamulehti reported. Two people were in the car; one was injured, while the other had not been reached at the scene. Police are continuing to investigate the circumstances.
Overnight in Lempäälä, responders dealt with a hazardous-materials incident on Himminpolku after an oxygen connector in a health centre patient room was damaged and began leaking oxygen into the space. They warned that the increased oxygen raises the risk of fire from a spark, but no fire or injuries occurred and the oxygen supply was shut off. There were no patients in the room at the time.
