Driver Escapes Unhurt After Car and Trailer Overturn on Velaatantie in Tampere

On Thursday afternoon a car towing a covered trailer left the road and overturned into a ditch on Velaatantie in Tampere, but the driver managed to get out of the vehicle on their own, Aamulehti reports.

According to Tamperelainen, the alert was reported at about 17:24, and the vehicle ended up on its roof. Ambulance personnel were checking the driver at the scene, and the person did not require assistance to exit the vehicle.

The crash happened near the Koskenniementie junction. By shortly before 17:30 the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department had closed one lane and was directing traffic through the remaining lane. Three rescue units and a police patrol attended, and an on-call emergency care unit examined the driver, who avoided serious injuries. Rescue crews remained on site as authorities monitored the situation.
