Electric cold-smoker likely sparked Nokia house blaze
An electric cold-smoking unit outside a detached home in Nokia is suspected to have sparked a late-Friday fire that destroyed the 240 m² house; four people escaped and one was hospitalised with serious injuries, police said.
Four people escaped a late-Friday house fire that destroyed a 240-square-metre detached home in Nokia, YLE reported.
Investigators now suspect the blaze began in an electric cold-smoking unit placed outside the building, Detective Chief Inspector Marko Peltonen of the Central Finland Police said. A loud bang heard during the fire was most likely caused by a gas cylinder exploding. One person was taken to hospital with serious injuries; the others escaped, and police say the inquiry has found no signs of criminal activity.
