Evening Crash Closes One Lane on Tampere's Western Ring Road
A crash on Tampere's western ring road shortly after 8 PM closed one lane toward Pirkkala while rescue crews carried out clearance and rescue operations between the Pitkäniemi and Rajaniemi junctions.
Tamperelainen reports that the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department said it received the alarm shortly after 8 PM and dispatched crews to carry out clearance and rescue operations. One lane, heading toward Pirkkala, was out of use. Traffic was being directed along the remaining lane. The incident was located between the Pitkäniemi and Rajaniemi junctions. Tamperelainen says the report will be updated as more information becomes available.
The incident follows several recent crashes on the western ring road, including a multi‑car crash in Pirkkala in September, a crash in Kalkku in October, and a rear‑end collision in August, which also briefly closed lanes.
