Free Sitaattiklubi culture nights debut in Tampere on 22 September

Sitaattiklubi, a free cultural series, launches in Tampere this autumn, with the first event at 6 pm on Tuesday 22 September at Bistro Vilja in Hatanpää, Aamulehti reported.

The premiere pairs Finlandia Prize-winning author Anni Kytömäki with cognitive neuroscience docent Miiamaaria Kujala and dance artist Wilhelmina Ojanen. Writer Susi Nousiainen will moderate.

Each club features three guests: a writer, a researcher or societal influencer, and an artist from another field. The programme is built around a single quote chosen from the featured author's work instead of focusing on new releases.

Pirkkalaiskirjailijat producer Anna Elina Isoaro said a second club will take place in November at Tampere Hall's Aulaclub during the city's Book Festival, and organisers aim to run four Sitaattiklubi events next year, two in spring and two in autumn. The series has received support from the Arts and Culture Agency.
