Laikku cultural festival will fill Kirjastonpuisto with music, dance, art and international food stalls on 6 June from 14:00–18:00.

Tamperelainen says the Laikku cultural festival (Finnish slogan: "Laikkuun mahtuu koko maailma" – "There's room for the whole world at Laikku") will take place in Kirjastonpuisto on 6 June from 14:00 to 18:00. The free event fills the Laikku stage and surrounding park with music, dance, art and a food market serving dishes from Nepal, Iran, Turkey, Mexico, Bangladesh, Ethiopia and West Africa. Host Suna Mikkola and DJ Dr. Smeđi Šećer will keep the programme moving, and stage acts include Indaba, Sankalana Dance Club, 67 x Naked, IX: UNE Dance Crew and Sounds of South America. Visitors can meet local associations, craft artists and community groups such as Manse Nepal, the Finnish‑Pakistani Cultural Association, Cameroonians in Tampere and Yorubas in Pirkanmaa. Children's Cultural Centre Rulla opens at 10:00 with a multilingual children's theatre performance, The Gardeners, and a recycled-materials art workshop. Laikku cultural house also hosts exhibitions, including works by Jussi Lautun and Tuulia Iso‑Tryykäri, and the show Pispalan Sottiisi – Folk Dance Across Five Decades. The festival is organised by the Tampere City Culture Unit. It is mostly accessible, follows safer events principles, and will move indoors to Laikku in case of very bad weather.
