A building on Paavintie in Sastamala caught fire around 2 p.m. Wednesday, and firefighters expect several hours of work to bring it under control. Several units from the Pirkanmaa Rescue Department remain on scene. No injuries have been reported. Local paper Tyrvään Sanomat described thick smoke over the area and said police were directing traffic near Sastamalantie. Authorities received the alarm at about 2 p.m.; updates are expected as operations continue.
