Ikaalinen to Sell Leppäkoski Stake to Alfors for €6.8m

Ikaalinen will sell all its shares in electricity distributor Leppäkoski Group to Alfors Oy for just over €6.8 million, YLE reports. City manager Eeva Viitanen will present the proposal to the city board at an extraordinary meeting next Monday. Viitanen describes the proceeds as large relative to Ikaalinen’s budget and calls the stake the city's single largest investment; she is cautiously hopeful the board will approve the sale. City officials say the timing is financially and strategically favourable and that the funds could be used to support residents’ welfare, boost local vitality and advance planned investments. Ikaalinen is carrying out a major financial balancing programme that runs through 2027.
