Aclima buys Sukkamestarit, will keep Ylöjärvi sock plant
Aclima has bought Sukkamestarit Oy and will keep sock production at the Ylöjärvi factory, aiming to increase annual output and expand international sales.
Aclima, a Norwegian textile firm, has bought Sukkamestarit Oy, Finland's largest sock manufacturer, and will keep production in Ylöjärvi, YLE reported. The company name and brands will remain unchanged. Aclima aims to grow the factory's annual output to three million pairs of socks within five to eight years.
Sukkamestarit has recently invested in production capacity and in developing technically demanding socks. It currently exports to about 20 countries. In February 2025 it received the biggest order in the company's history from the Danish Defence.
CEO Jussi Koskinen said Aclima gives the company "stronger shoulders" for the next growth phase and opens international sales channels. The combined business will have roughly 50 million euros in annual turnover and 186 employees.
