Ilves opens a three-game week in Vaasa on Wednesday, where its seven-game winning streak will be tested against Sport.
Ilves rode last Saturday’s 6–4 home victory over Kiekko‑Espoo into the busy schedule; the win extended the streak to seven when Lööke scored twice. Lukáš Jašek (1+2) and his line-mates had big nights. Jens Lööke scored his first two goals of the season (2+1), and Luke Henman added 1+2, continuing to lead Ilves and the Liiga scoring race with 5+9=14.
Sport arrives off a 3–2 overtime loss at home to HIFK. Isak Walther and Simon Åkerström scored for Vaasa, while George Diaco and Kalle Ervasti each posted two assists.
Wednesday’s game at Vaasan Sähkö Areena kicks off at 18:30.
The clubs meet for the first time this season. Ilves swept all four encounters last year, three in regulation. Sport has undergone major changes in coaching and personnel over the summer, including new head coach Lauri Mikkola and additions such as George Diaco and Brett Harrison.
