In the final days of the campaign the club thanked players who are leaving and confirmed that goalkeeper Roope Taponen’s contract was ended by mutual agreement.
Forward Matias Mäntykivi praised the dressing room as "full of top guys" and said he has "enjoyed every second." Antti Nättinen, returning to the lineup, insisted, "When we're at our core, we're clearly the better team."
Tappara secured the semi-final series victory, sending Ilves into the bronze decider. Ilves will now face a SaiPa side that has shown strength.
The club is also taking part in the FinAid association's relief work in Nikopol, Ukraine.
