Ilves to launch unified ILVES+ streaming service in August
Ilves will consolidate its hockey and football audiovisual content on a revamped ILVES+ streaming service, with a full launch in August and some Europa Conference qualifying matches already available.
According to Ilves, the club will consolidate its audiovisual content on a revamped ILVES+ streaming service, with a full launch planned in August. "We wanted all Ilves-related content in one place," ILVES+ lead producer Valtteri Makkonen says. This week’s Europa Conference qualifying matches are already on the platform.
The new site combines hockey and football material under an Ilves 365 concept. For the first time, ILVES+ will stream Ilves football’s European fixtures and some early-season hockey friendlies. The club holds the rights to broadcast both home and away legs against Luxembourg club FC Differdange 03. The first leg, in Luxembourg on Wednesday 8 July, will be available as a €9.90 single-match purchase or via a monthly subscription.
Subscribers can choose a package covering both sports for €9.90 per month, or a single-sport plan at €6.90 per month. Season-ticket holders pay a discounted €4.90 per month, while a 12-month dual-sport subscription costs €99.90 (€49.90 for season-ticket holders). Fans can also expect some free content: radio commentaries for both sports will continue without charge, while premium video sits behind a paywall and some items will be released publicly after a delay.
Finnish firm Icareus is the technical partner, chosen for its scalable video platform and integration options. "We plan to invest more in our content and stick to publishing schedules so paying supporters get what we promised," Makkonen says.
This follows earlier summer announcements that included plans for ILVES+ broadcasts as part of the club's busy summer schedule announced in May.
