Jarkko Wiss to leave SJK, Gonçalo Pereira set to take over
Tampere-born coach Jarkko Wiss and SJK have agreed to terminate his contract early, and Gonçalo Pereira is expected to replace him.
Tampere-born coach Jarkko Wiss will not continue as head coach of Seinäjoen Jalkapallokerho for next season, Aamulehti reports.
Wiss’s contract would have covered the upcoming season, but the club and the 54-year-old coach have agreed to terminate the deal early. SJK have endured a disappointing campaign. They are playing in the lower final series and sit 10th overall, a position they will keep when the season ends Saturday in Tampere against Ilves. Last season Wiss led Kuopion Palloseura to the Finnish championship, and his résumé also includes spells at Tampere’s Ilves and Turku’s Inter.
Gonçalo Pereira, currently head coach of FC Lahti, is set to take over at SJK, MTV reports. FC Lahti announced in September that Pereira would leave at the end of the season, and the same report identified Teemu Tainio as Lahti’s intended successor.
