Kesko's untaxed retail sales in Pirkanmaa rose 5.4% to €865.9 million in January–September, led by a 13% jump in building and building systems trade.

According to Tamperelainen, Kesko's untaxed retail sales in Pirkanmaa reached €865.9 million in January–September, a 5.4 percent increase that outpaced the national rise.

Kesko said the growth was the fourth strongest among Finnish regions, above the country's 4.4 percent climb. Jari Alanen, Kesko's Western Finland regional director, highlighted broad-based gains. Grocery sales rose 4.6 percent, the third-strongest regional showing. Building and building systems trade jumped 13.0 percent, about double the 6.5 percent national increase. K‑Citymarkets recorded almost 10 percent growth.

Only Ostrobothnia outperformed Pirkanmaa in Western Finland. Alanen said the company is pleased with the area's performance and expects apartment block construction to pick up. Several local projects are underway: a new K‑Market Sointula is due in summer 2027, a K‑Supermarket Kangasala expansion is planned for early 2028 and a new K‑Supermarket Peltolammi is slated for summer 2028.

The nine-month rise continues a trend seen in May, when Kesko’s K-Group reported rising sales in Pirkanmaa in our Q1 coverage.
