About twenty community meeting places will gather at Laikunlava in Tampere on Thursday to raise awareness of low‑threshold services and highlight their role in preventing loneliness and building everyday networks, Aamulehti reports.
The free event runs from 12:00 to 15:00 and includes music, chair exercise sessions, poetry and coffee. Drop in anytime.
"These places are good to know because you or someone close may need such services at some stage of life," says Hannu Stark, house and marketing manager at Kumppanuustalo Artteli. Groups taking part include Elokolo, Voimavirta, Tyttöjen talo and Kumppanuustalo Artteli.
The fair is part of a wider push to expand low‑threshold community spaces, following the city's €1.9M pledge in 2026. It also echoes other initiatives, such as nearly 100 low‑threshold cultural events scheduled this autumn.
