Tampere United secured promotion to Finland's second tier after a 1–0 win in Oulu, with Jesse Huhtala scoring the decisive goal.

Tampere United secured promotion to the Ykkösliiga after a 1–0 victory in Oulu on Saturday, with Jesse Huhtala scoring the winner in the 61st minute from a Juho Heikkinen assist, Aamulehti reports. Players and supporters celebrated in Oulu late into the night.

The club had been on the brink of promotion since early October, entering the final rounds with a six-point lead. The Ykkösliiga is the second tier of Finnish football.

Tampere will still host one more Ykkösliiga home game, facing RoPS at Kauppi on Sunday, 18 October, and Aamulehti will provide live commentary of the match. The promotion comes after the club moved its home matches to Kauppi earlier this season the move to Kauppi Sports Park.
