Mariska, Ahti and Dantchev: Domain Headline Weekend Concerts at Tampere Theatres
Several artists – Mariska, Anna Dantchev’s Dantchev: Domain, Ahti, Ressu Redford and Jarkko Martikainen – perform special shows across Tampere this Friday and Saturday.
Mariska, Dantchev: Domain, Ahti and Ressu Redford will play across Tampere on Friday and Saturday, the local paper Tamperelainen reports.
Mariska appears at the Frenckell stage of Tampere Theatre on Friday with a programme called I Sing, I Write, mixing her own songs and covers, and at times echoing veteran singer Arja Koriseva.
The Tampere Jazz Happening runs Thursday to Sunday after organisers published the festival's lineup. It brings Anna Dantchev’s band Dantchev: Domain to Telakka on Friday, a group that moves fluidly between folk, jazz and blues.
Rap artist Ahti, who released the album What Changed Everything in September, visits Tavara-asema on Friday. His set is warm and emotionally direct but still aims to get people dancing.
Esa Pentti Juhani Mäkelä, known as Ressu Redford, will perform his nostalgic Remember Us Like This at Ihku. He may leave the crowd calling Don’t Go.
On Saturday Jarkko Martikainen and his compact band take Työväen teatteri’s Main Stage. Their programme spans more than 30 years, from YUP favourites to his solo hits, and promises moments both playful and fierce.
