McDonald's Big Arch hits 1098 calories in Finland

McDonald's rolls out the Big Arch, a 1098-kcal giant, in Finland this week as a core-menu offering that dwarfs rivals Burger King and Hesburger, Tamperelainen reports. The sandwich contains two large beef patties, three white cheddar slices, roasted and fresh onions, lettuce and pickles, plus a new tomato-based Big Arch sauce not used in other burgers according to the chain. Nutrition figures from the chains' own sites show the Big Arch at 1098 kcal with 72 g of fat and 4.13 g of salt. The piece contrasts other jumbo burgers: Hesburger Megaburger at 1080 kcal and 73.4 g fat (3.1 g salt), Burger King Texas Bacon King at 1182 kcal with 73.9 g fat and 5.5 g salt, and notes Big Mac at 545 kcal, Double Big Tasty Bacon at 986 kcal, and BK's regular hamburger at 277 kcal, with Hesburger's standard hamburger listed at 343 kcal
