Mehiläinen to Acquire Öga Eye Hospital in Ratinan Kulma
Mehiläinen will acquire Öga Eye Hospital at Ratinan Kulma in Tampere, effective 1 October; Öga staff will transfer to Mehiläinen and clinic services will continue.
Mehiläinen will acquire Öga Eye Hospital at Ratinan Kulma in Tampere, with the deal taking effect on 1 October, according to Aamulehti.
Services at the Ratinan Kulma clinic will continue after Öga’s staff transfer to Mehiläinen as existing employees.
Minna Kunvikin, head of Mehiläinen’s Pirkanmaa unit, said the purchase strengthens the company's specialist expertise in eye diseases. It will smooth the path from examinations and outpatient visits to procedures such as cataract, lens, laser, ICL and eyelid surgery.
Öga founder and CEO Tero Pajari said the clinic had grown into a regional operator and now needs a stable partner to manage rising administrative work.
Founded in Tampere in 2009, Öga reported 2025 revenue of €1,492,000, up 12.4%. Operating profit was €310,000, net profit €260,000, and the company employed seven people.
