Mikko Alatalo to Play Twice at Five-Band Suuri Manserock Night in Tullikammari
A five-band Suuri Manserock bill at Tullikammari on 27 February will feature Mikko Alatalo performing twice, both with his own band and as part of a Coitus Int 50 Revival.
Tullikammari's Pakkahuone and Klubi will host a five-band Suuri Manserock bill on Saturday 27 February. Aamulehti reports that Mikko Alatalo will appear twice, fronting the Mikko Alatalo Band and joining Coitus Int 50 Revival. The revival lineup includes original singer Pena Penninkilampi and focuses on the group's classic repertoire. Alatalo says recent shows have "felt like family reunions," with audiences of all ages singing along to Juice and Coitus classics.
Other names on the programme reach back to Manserock's early wave. They include Nolo & Rähjä, formed in Aitolahti in 1970 – their second album was produced by Juice Leskinen; Alwari Tuohitorvi Revisited, now with Seppo Tammilehto as lead vocalist; and Sidi & Hermottomat, a band active in Tampere from 1979 to 1983 that returned to playing in the 2000s and is making a rare live appearance after roughly a decade away. Local paper Moro will raffle ticket packages for the show in late January and early February.
The Coitus Int appearance follows earlier coverage that the revival would give a farewell performance in Tampere as part of Alatalo's anniversary plans the planned farewell performance.
