Nysse to raise single-ticket fares in January, two-zone value card up €5
Nysse will raise single-journey fares from 4 January, with most fares increasing about 6–8% and the two-zone value ticket going from €65 to €70.
Tamperelainen reports that Tampere regional public transport operator Nysse plans to implement the increases on 4 January. A two-zone value ticket will rise from €65 to €70. Single-journey fares will increase by €0.20 on 4 January, which amounts to roughly an 8% rise for two-zone value cards. Mobile and contactless payments are set to climb by about 7%, while advance single tickets would increase by around 6%. Children’s, youth and senior single tickets are proposed to rise by 7–8%, and three-zone single tickets will receive the same cent-level rise.
The Tampere regional public transport board will consider the proposal at its meeting next Wednesday. Event tickets are proposed to rise by €0.15, to €1.30 per boarding or €2.60 per day. School group tickets and the basic school ticket would remain unchanged.
New season products would include a 90-day adult season ticket for three-zone travel priced at €215, and a 360-day student season available in the Nysse Mobile app. The rise follows earlier regional proposals this autumn to raise fares by about 4–5% as part of measures to cover the transit operating shortfall the September fare proposal and related board discussions in September.
