Plastic container left on stove triggers smoke in Tampere home

Aamulehti reports that six fire service units responded to a mid-size building fire in Tampere's Vuores district on Sunday evening after a plastic container left on a stove began to smoke. On-duty fire marshal Lassi Kylälammi of the Pirkanmaa Fire Department says the stove had been used about an hour earlier for cooking, and the plastic container with cleaning supplies placed on the hot plate began to smoulder, causing smoke to travel into the apartment and then into the stairwell. The Pirkanmaa Fire Department notes that six units were dispatched to the scene; they forced entry into the apartment, removed the container, and ventilated the space. Residents returned home and no one was exposed to smoke.
