Police Carry Out Operation at Yliopistonkatu and Lahteenkatu in Tammela

Police launched an operation at the intersection of Yliopistonkatu and Lahteenkatu in Tammela, Tampere, after 4 p.m. Several police units and emergency medical teams were on site. Officers said bystanders were not in danger but gave few details while the situation remained active. The operation comes amid stepped-up city centre policing this month after police boosted visible patrols, and follows an intensified three-week patrol in May which reported 268 removals.
