Ranta-Tampella and Verstaankatu junction to close for two weeks of roadworks
The Ranta-Tampella and Verstaankatu intersection will be closed to motor traffic for roadworks from 24 October to 8 November 2026.
The Ranta-Tampella and Verstaankatu junction will be closed to motor traffic from 24 October to 8 November 2026. Work begins on Saturday, 24 October 2026. Nearby links will remain open; traffic from Paasikivenkatu into Verstaankatu will continue to run normally, and vehicles can still travel from Kekkosenkatu onto Ranta-Tampella street. Because the Verstaankatu bridge has a 4.2-metre height limit, drivers of taller vehicles are advised to use the Rantatunneli. Ranta-Tampella will be a dead end until the closure ends on 8 November 2026. The closure is part of ongoing Ranta-Tampella street and plaza works and follows the Horisonttiaukio roadworks in the area announced in August, the City of Tampere says.
